I am no expert for sure but my loader is rated for 2k and this is what was recommended by the dealer when the PO bought both tractor and forks together as a package. Next time I am in a dealer I will ask their opinion for sure.

You may be right but for sure I'd feel much better knowing the forks would not bend. Especially after watching a neighbor trying to move a white pine log and watching one of the forks simply go limp.

The difference between cheap forks and pricier ones very well be in exactly how much weight above and beyond their rating they will take...other words, will they take a big shock load, or just a small one.
When I'm building things for myself, I tend to overbuild things...I'm always surprised when I see how little metal is really in certain items, and they still seem to hold a lot of weight just fine. A good example would be those folding camp chairs...if I was building something like that it would weigh 4 times what they actually do...always amazed they hold up...although I did just break mine :emb:

Gasifier Titan started making the forks with the receiver hitch built in AFTER I bought my forks.
It would be handy for sure.
    But
Having the ball 4 ft in front of me does make it easy to see and hook up.
I really like the receiver hitch built in. Might have to add it to mine!
Backwoods Savage these forks are rated for 4,000 lbs. no way could I come close to lifting that. The forks seem much lighter in weight than my friends skid steer forks
Come to think of it my bucket is much lighter too,

The forks on the first link I provided are rated at 3,000 lbs.

The forks in the second link were rated for 4,000 lbs.

I have owned two pair at 42". They worked well. The pair I ordered with my new tractor are 48" (rated at 4,000lbs.)

I would suggest going with the 48".

I'm confused.... How do you use the receiver hitch on the Titan forks? Do the forks come off? Seems like they'd get in the way...?

Why do you like the 48 vs the 42? Is it just because of picking up pallets?

I always liked 48" inch forks moving 40x48" skids around, especially 3 rail skids running the short way, you know you have 1/3 the weight under the last inch of fork tine. Picking up a 3 rail getting just 2 rails on short tines always made me nervous.
Short tines can come in handy though doiung landscaping work or moving timbers around.
