Puttin up boards in the bathroom.

Made it to the cabin this weekend and put up some boards in the bathroom. Had to temporarily pull the sink so that we could put some boards behind it. Made a shelf out of the existing wall. The gaps in the corners will be covered up by trim. We also had a gap where the shower met the boards on the wall. We are going to put a board over that and use it for hanging towels. All quartersawn sycamore.

Thanks! Its funny, the cabin is along a creek bottom so plenty of sycamores close by and close to the mill. Did a little research and liked the look of it quartersawn. It actually looks even better with a coat of poly. Gets a rosey/reddish color in the dark spots. After we had done 6 or so trees, the quartersawing was wearing us out lol! Its alot of work on a manual mill.

How can you go wrong?, taking a chit on the toilet and being surrounded by all that wood aroma, awesome!

 

Red oak is going on the floors. Pretty sure thats what is going on the ceiling too based on what we have dried in the stack.
