Wood Boiler / Storage Shelter Ideas? Tips? before I build.

What I'm getting at is to get the best heat transfer you are supposed to have the flows going in opposite directions. At least that is what my supplier told me. Maybe others/experts will chime in. He said it is a common mistake to have the water directions going in the same direction. I did what I was told as I was all ears.

 

It's that how I have it now?

As I said before, I can NOT tell from your pic. Trace out the flow pattern and see if they are heading in the same direction or opposite. Opposite is wht I was told it needs to be.

 

The return from the house is the top of the right side of heat exchanger. The wood boiler supply is on the bottom left. Is that correct. Wood Boiler supply bottom left of heat exchanger. Wood boiler return top left. Return from house top right going back in house boiler bottom right

Left of house boiler is return. I take that water and go to top right of heat exchanger. I then go into boiler. I added a bypass as you can see

Do you know any HVAC contractors? Or someone who does a lot of boiler work? Most are not use to an add on wood boiler situation, but they may be able to help you make sure it is right before the cold weather gets here.

 

Because these heat exchanger are so small the loss is minimal. Either way the heat will be exchanged. Does anyone have a picture of their heat exchange and boiler so I can compare? Did you cut into the return of your boiler?

This is quite important, it makes a big difference.

 

I have not hooked up the boiler lines yet. I have many images of my install and I explained where everything is connected. Is what I am explaining not clear? I believe my setup is exactly what everyone is saying? Should I change something?

We are circulating water with the added chemicals. How long should I let it circulate before testing water?
