Picked up some trail cam cards. No wonder the buckwheat is not growing much. I thought it was all because it is so dry but they eat it as fast as it grows.

I love seeing the effort in planting drawing them in.

As flat as your ground is, catching them coming in is just a crap shoot, isn't it?

Yes, a combination of food plot and building up the ground. I've planted buckwheat there now for about 4 years or however many years since I broke up this ground. It also goes around the corner and some clover around there. Will be working up the buckwheat probably next week. Would like to plant more clover but may plant wheat or a combination of wheat and oats or wheat and rye then frost seed it next spring into clover. Much depends upon the weather.

Well, I spend a lot of time just watching too. Usually have to wait until late October or early November for the bucks but where the girls are, the boys will come!

That's usually the case. Put an excluder cage up to see how much it grows.

No need. Really don't care how much grows. There will be enough to help both the ground and the deer. Will probably be working that up this week or next.
