Tonights entree, cast iron meat loaf cooked out on the grill. 375* for an hr. Just your meatloaf simple recipe, anyway you like it, more pics to follow!
The pan cooked it nice, but I should have known better, 1 hr was a bit to long… 45 min would have been plenty. It wasn't dry but the edges around the inside of the pan were "crispy" I did it on the grill vrs the oven.
Awesome, same thing I do, but I also put 'em on top. Brings out the sweetness. I thought I spied onions in there.
I hate to tell you, but I always want the crispy parts of cooked meats. Meatloaf, hams etc are all good for that. I don't get much of it, but when I do, Yum Yum!
Larry, it was very good , don't get me wrong, Just a "bit" to crispy for my liking. Although, The wife enjoyed the crispy edges!, But now go figure this, she won't like a pie with the edges even the slighest dark. Where I love that! Hmmmm.
I didn't do that and I was "THINKING" of putting bacon on top but I got out voted. My Daughter "who is a College student" and now I'm so dumb I can't tie my shoes right, told me thats just to much fat! so I didn't say much even though I "REALLY" wanted to So I left off the bacon…. I guess thats ok, and she had a couple nice chunks of the pie.
I look at it this way, if I'm making it, I decide what to put on/in my meatloaf.......as long as my wife agrees. By the way, she loves the crispy stuff, and won't eat bacon unless it's just about burned. Same with burgers.
