This is the Fisher story, by Claudia Lynn. This is a really cool read if anyone is interested in hearing how the "first" airtight wood stove was born. I must give a shout out to a man named Coaly who supplied me with this. He is a good man! Enjoy! Dave
That was cool how you got the book onto here, it ran as a pdf in ibooks on my ipad. I read the first couple pages, cool read so far. Thanks for posting
Thanks, I am by far "computer savvy" frankly I stink at them… I fiddled around till I got lucky! Hope Griz doesn't vaporize it, but I don't see why he would?
I'm up to page 64 already. Nice read. Like stories like those. Tough men and woman who make a difference.
Read it all. Great story! Makes me appreciate my old Fisher stove even more. Thanks for sharing that.
Holy cow, that was 123 pages...I gotta go to bed... Good read Dave, very interesting! thanks for posting
Hey rsting, Welcome to the forum! We hope you'll stick around. This is the coooolest place on the web and the Greatest people in the world! Just "don't" mention "BEER"
I just ran across the book when I was unpacking stuff. If anyone wants the real thing I'll be happy to pass it along.
I got it as a gift (prize maybe?) around Christmas a couple of years ago, from the owner of another woodburning forum. It is an interesting read.
Finally got around to reading this. Wow! Thanks, WeldrDave, wonderful read. A real illustration about human greed, and Government bureaucracy.
Glad you enjoyed it! It's "amazing" all the BU!!$#!T the poor guy went through just to keep warm and having a good idea! I guess thats why I "cling" to my Fishers, I see a lot of me in that man. "I think it has something to do with the hard headedness"… as my wife and daughter would say….
I was raised in Springfield/Eugene Oregon in the mid 1970's, I probably went past his shop as a kid. And that's a great read.
Do you still have the real book? I can read stuff like the forum on a screen, but can't get myself to sit and read a book lime that.
