I finally broke down and got one for myself. Christmas present.:dancer:
I know there's at least one thread around about these, but I didn't feel like looking for it.......
Rockler had a promo that included a face clamp, and a $20 gift card, all at the "normal" price.
I've not seen these things on sale or discounted, so I went for it.
    It's this one.....http://www.rockler.com/kreg-jig-k5-pocket-hole-system-face-klamp-with-free-20-gift-card
My cordless drill died recently, so I also needed one of those:D.......yep, went to HD and bought a drill/impact driver kit.

    Anyway, Merry Christmas to me.................

Any immediate plans for it? I 've seen your stove room pics, the Kreg may sit for a while.  (I shouldn't laugh, I have a bunch to do here)

Jon, I have things I'd like to do that have been on the list probably longer than you've been alive.  Sad, eh?
I priced out some windows at HD yesterday for the stove room, so that MAY happen in the spring. The old ones have been causing quite a bit of consternation. I don't want to put the room back together while they're still in there because of the water issues. The sill pieces were fairly rotted when I pulled 'em.:hair:
I'll be working on stuff all winter, and I thought the Kreg might get put to use in making some new cabs for the laundry room. Plenty of other methods (I've built lots of cabs), but this looks faster.

Got the package yesterday. Used the GC and the debit card to buy screws this morning.
I should be set for a couple minutes.

Love mine. I bought a big box of screws on Amazon and used almost half of them in the past year. Lots of pockets holes have been made.

    Use mine for many things,
Great for almost any 90° angle, pic frames to table tops
Just used the other day for some oak stools.

    I've been payin' attention Dave.
Need some new cabs in the laundry room and this will be used to put together the boxes and face frame.
Got my plan all done today while sitting around.
    I really like those stools.
So, you got the variety pack of screws? I ordered 500 coarse and 500 fine thread, since I have a bunch of pine and Oak to use up.

    You'll like it.
    Makes a good strong joint.
Makes the 45°s on picture frames a lot easier to glue & join.
    lots of uses :)

Will you guys stop if I pull it out of the box?
And...take a pic of the unboxed item?
    And, post it here?

    No, don't do that.
you'll probably cut you finger on the sharp drill bit
    then
pinch your finger in the clamp
    LOL
When can we look at the (unopened) package of a 1,000 screw ?

The screw order is still "processing".
Went with my SIL to Alpena and Ossineke today, went to HD and had them rough rip and crosscut a 4x8 sheet of plywood for the laundry room cabs.
See, even though the jig is still in the box, I'm making progress.

I was going to buy one of their drawer slide jigs, but it seems they're discontinued.
Guess I'll have to make my own.
