Hey lknchoppers. Welcome to the club man. I have a brother who lives very close to Charlotte, South side. Charlotte area seems like a cool place to live down there. I've been there many times. So. Is your screen name related to motorcycles? I'm assuming. Although Benny Hill use to say, You should never assume.
Might see a high of 30* today, if that. 24* right now and it's almost noon. Good working temps though.
Wow. That makes me glad the Fall has stayed mild here. Still getting things done here before the snow flies!

Geez Nate, that sounds cold to me! It's near 40°f here this morning, I'm burning some alder. It's a good shoulder season wood for me, a little fire in the morning and one in the evening and I can keep the house in the mid 70s.
Weather has FINALLY turned after a warm indian summer; was in the 70s just a week ago. Been in the high 40s at night and getting only to high50s/low 60s during the day. House was 62deg inside on Saturday--too cold! Fired up for the first time FINALLY!!!
I woke up to 39 degrees this morning and today its a high of 69. Wow, what a swing!! 62 in my house this morning, but I can't build a fire because I have a tech scheduled to do some maintenance on my insert today. Brrr -waiting for the sun!
Filled the smoke dragon with ash and pine ready for test burn. New piping and 3-way valves have 50 psi pressure test for the night. Tying in a new gasser I picked up in a divorce sale in the crate for four grand. I piped them in parallel because the gasser might be a little small so I'm thinking I could run both when its below zero. I'm going to use the smoke dragon for storage so if I need it it will already will be hot.
