Is it still set a 10% throttle?

I figure my wife would say the same she likes to watch the flame. But I find this very interesting.

Thanks for the updates Brian - please check back with us in about 2 or 3 days when this load gets down to coals and it needs a reload. Hey, just goofing but it looks good as a long and slow burner so far, would you say?

Yes, it's at 10%. Stove top still holding at 300.

So far, yes, but I've never tried for long slow burns with the Fireview so I don't have much experience with them.

The great thing is that it is on a low burn and still heating your home during actual real winter temps for this area.

72 in the stove room, or throughout the house? Is your weather ticking up into the 40s this week, also?

House furnace has been off all day. Outside temp right now 21. Almost 8 hours into burn, 71 in the stove room now and throughout the first floor. 68 on the second floor. We like the bedrooms cooler at night. Forecast for a high of 37 tomorrow and 41 Sunday but back into the upper 30s this week.

Stove top temp staying right at 300 on 10% air. Hot spot over door at 380. Double wall stove pipe probe thermometer sticking on 380.

Its starting to, plus more soot on door glass, see the current photo below almost 8 hours into burn:

8 hours and solid chunks. I'm guessing 15-16 hours with this load. Maybe 20 hours with solid splits.

    That sounds right.

Scotty is dropping off a bit of 3 year seasoned locust for me on Sunday at my dad's, so early next week we'll get to see results with solid locust splits.

We'd have to get a TV first.

We did just watch an old movie online from Amazon. "The Great Escape." Great WWII flick with an awesome cast.

Sunday will work. You should have a few days next week with the high in the low 40s and low in the 30s which will work better for you during a low burn.

Hopefully the splits take full advantage of the firebox.

Looks good so far. Closing down the last 10% of the draft may make quiet a difference if you needed lower heat-longer burn. Seems to on every stove I've been around.

At nine hours since I started this burn cycle, the air is still at 10% but stove top temps have creeped up to 325 , the hot spot on the front above the door is up to 400, and I'm seeing more of a glow but no flames in the stove. I wonder if the colder temps outside are increasing draft? Outdoor temp down to 19 now and first floor temp has dropped to 69, second floor temp to 68.
