Went for a scouting drive this morning and just could not resist cutting a few test rounds with the smokeless saw. Woodwidow would not let me have the camera! This road side waste has been down a few years. We have had a warm dry summer. These rounds are 15% moisture content. Will be a few pickup loads in this pile!
There is just something beautiful about a log with the bark gone and nice and weathered. That looks as good to me as a nice bouquet of roses would to my bride.
Seriously? Really? "Road side waste"? (mumbles to self about how unfair life can be) Very nice is what that is right there. A nice, fruitful, scouting mission.
It looks like it was a beautiful day, and big, dry log piles. Next he will tell us that they probably had something really good to eat when they got home.
Woodwidow really did a master piece with this . It was really, really, really ,GOOD ,GOOD, and GOODER!
I'm sure you've posted about this saw somewhere else in this forum, but I haven't run into it. Care to tell me more about it, or post a link to a previous thread. I'm assuming it's electric, how long will it run on a charge? How about a video of it in action?
The action shot! http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/index.php?threads/smokeless-stihl-cordless.6498/
Part two. Back for a load. Second growth Douglas Fir. Making some sawdust. Woodwidow would roll the logs so the cut could be completed without rocking the chain. The helpers. The finished product ready to head for home. In dry condition, a shovel, pulaski, and pizz can make up part of the gear packed. Some splitting action!
