I wish I stocked up on Wolf 7.63x39 when It was real cheap. When I was in college I could buy 500 rounds shipped to my house for about $50 at the gun show it was about $45...now a days its closer to $120 shipped to the door
If we are going to talk about what if's, I'd have skipped the ammo buys and loaded up on Ford stock back in '08 when it was a penny stock or Apple in '03 when it was cheap.
All the talk about stocking up on ammo "when it was cheap", but you do realize in 10 years we'll be talking about how cheap ammo was back in 2014! Stock up now, because it's only going to go up in price! I had stocked up on several thousand rounds of 12 and 20 gauge when I could get it for $2/box. I just ran out of 20 gauge last weekend, and probably have less than 500 rounds of 12 ga left. I guess it's time to start buying again, because it's only going to get more expensive.
I told my wife this week I need to start stocking up on components just in case someone wins the white house in 2016
It's not a bad plan. I'll probably start stocking up on .223 soon. I don't have a gun that shoots them (well, other than a single shot Contender, but that only get's fed Hornady ammo), but I'd love to build an AR over the next year, and it's easy to go through a lot of ammo in a few hours of shooting. I'd hate to finally finish building an AR, and have that someone in the White House and a run on ammo for 5 years all over again and be SOL!!
While out shopping for and ordering tires up by the shelby mall. Stopped in and picked up another brick 500rds of .22 $36.99 and . 22 WMR $12.99 50 HP or 200rds HP $49.00 Plenty of bricks for a Friday. Tried to check out a PMR-30 like my bro has got in and the big azz gun dealer said they cant get them in.
The cheap ammo may be harder to get soon. They put restrictions on Russian imports and that's wolf and Tula.
Didnt think out was small arms. I asked my brother whether he thought out would include ammo no this ago and he said to buyit up
One of the local dealers that doesn't gouge was telling me it's getting harder to buy pallets of it. They sell 223 for $300/1k, 9mm is $380/1k, and 45 was $450/1k.
380 bucks for 1k 9mm is STEEP. Sounds like gouging to me It's always a good policy to buy ammo when you can afford it, cause it's not gonna get cheaper "Buy it cheap, stack it deep"
I pick up 9mm brass...its everywhere. I dont even pick it all up anymore and I load 9!! That and stinking 40 is all over the place! I have bought once fired 9brass when I started and bet I didnt pay $30/1000!
I pick up as much as I can as well. Don't reload yet but I hope to get in to it soon Edit: clemsonfor, I meant $220/ thousand for brass cased ammo not just the brass. That would be a little steep
I was wondering!!! I thought maybe you were buying that Norma stuff or whatever!! Even star line I think is only like $12/100
