No, it turned to sleet but is coming down steadily; so while it is not going to be deep a deep snow, it is going to be a lot of ice on the ground. At least it is not freezing rain. The temps have been steady around -5C/23F

Wind starting to blow; there is a fine icy snow being blown around, stings the face when it hits.

I am OK, holed up in the little office with the electric radiator. Ham in the oven for supper. Wish I had a nice cozy fire but that will happen when it can.

I guess the National Weather service is now naming winter storms. I find it all a bit silly myself, the same for hurricanes. Why not just put a timestamp on the storm. Why not storm 1222016, or for hurricanes, storm 1-2016, 2-2016, that will more clearly identify a hurricane than calling it Pete, or Bob, or Judy.

Correction. Weather channel names winter storms to hype them up.

Took a reading of the frozen mix of snow, sleet, and ice and have ~10.8cm/4.25 in. The sleet really packed down the snow that first fell.

Storms should be named after mother-in-laws.

I watch the news on our ABC affiliate in Manchester, NH. Channel 9, they never once mentioned a name, the just say the nor'easter. I think TWC does more harm than good sometimes. Naming snowstorms:loco: . I'm lucky if my grandfather doesn't rise from the grave and slap someone silly:eek:
